Brittany Levingston received her PhD in English and African American Studies in 2020. Her research focuses on Christianity in African American literature and her dissertation, entitled “In the Day of Salvation: Christ and Salvation in Early Twentieth-Century African American Literature,” explores the way the image of Christ and salvation is utilized by African American authors in the first half of the twentieth century. She is currently the Fellowship Program Manager at the Beinecke.
